The eternal tidier

I love tidying. In my studio sits an index card that says "Sort the World". Not a motivational poster. A four-syllable job order.

Across my own digital projects the rule is obvious: the future is never finished being sorted. Every day I start again, and I enjoy sorting my world. Dust, tickets, half-done repos, open tabs. Same site, new pass.

Why tidying is making

If you tidy fanatically for years, you become a fantastic tidier. If you tidy fantastically, you get better at making, managing, and advising. Because you see what is missing. Because you feel sequence. Because chaos is not a status symbol for you. It is a backlog.

• Hack on as the close: after sorting comes the next cut, not a victory lap.

You can hate the site and still live in it. Better: make it the place where you get clear. Digging problems need digging order before anyone builds. The card helps. The rest is repetition.

Construction site as favorite place

If you only love finished surfaces, you will hate your own work. Software, consulting, content: all of it lives as a Baustelle, or it is dead. Beautiful Baustelle does not mean denying the dust. It means sorting the dust until the next step is visible. Get used to it. Stay used to it.

Life is a Baustelle is not an excuse for chaos. It is permission to think clearly in the middle of the build. You tidy, you sort, you hack on. That is why the "Sort the World" card hangs in the studio: so the day has a job order before the feed eats you.
